This was invented in the middle of the previous century by orthopedic technicians to treat fractures in the thoracic spine which created post-traumatic Kyphosis.

It functions, contrary to the Taylor brace, by pushing the shoulders towards the sub-clavicle areas, and at the same time supports the back with two metal rods.

As a construction, it is more developed than the Taylor type brace, but the force exerted on the shoulders is limited and it creates intense pressure under the armpits, such that when the patient is in a sitting position, the pressure is so intense that the arms go numb.

It can also be made from thermoplastic material following the taking of a mold from the patient's body
